Ocean anglers fish for king, silver and sockeye salmon in addition
to halibut, ling cod and other bottom fish. While out on the
open ocean whales, seals, porpoise and sealions abound for fabulous
photo opportunities. River fisherman have the advantage of our
island's extensive road system to provide access to a number
of streams. Spring fisherman seek steelhead, while in the summer,
sockeye is the first variety of salmon to enter the streams
followed by silver, pink and dog salmon. Silvers are most abundant
through the month of September, with a daily catch limit of
six for each species!

Southeast Retreat
is an exclusive, first-rate lodge on the water's edge of Big
Salt Lake, just outside of Klawock, Alaska. Our lodge can accommodate
10 guests either in one large, or two small groups. Each of
the 2 housing units has it's own entrance. The 2-bedroom apartment
has a spectacular view of the lake and bay, while the beautiful
A-frame house is nestled in the trees. Black bear, deer, mink
and numerous species of birds, including eagles and sometimes
loons, can be seen from your front porch.
